When Noelani visited her local animal shelter in Fresno, California, her eyes met with a sad pit bull waiting all alone in her kennel. This pit bull, named Zia, tugged at Noelani’s heartstrings as she noticed Zia’s bulging belly – she was pregnant and ready to give birth at any moment!
But instead of excitement, Zia felt only confusion and sadness as she sat on the cold, hard concrete in the loud and crowded shelter, awaiting her puppies’ arrival. Noelani knew she had to help, so she convinced the shelter to let her take Zia home as a foster dog.

Puppies Arrive, Flooding Zia’s Life With Joy
At her comfortable foster home, Zia received a soft bed, tasty food, and endless belly rubs as she waited for her puppies. Before long, Zia gave birth to two boys and two girls. The transformation in Zia after becoming a mom was unbelievable – she went from sad and scared to positively gleeful!

Her four perfect puppies, named Zorro, Zoie, Zaina, and Zeus by their foster mom, filled Zia’s days with puppy kisses, snuggles, and pride.

Shy little Zoie quickly became the runt Zia doted on the most, while rowdy Zeus kept his momma on her toes. As the weeks went by, the puppies grew strong and healthy thanks to Zia’s excellent care.

Puppies Head To Loving Forever Homes
When the puppies turned four weeks old, they were ready to be adopted into homes of their own. Zia’s foster mom had already found wonderful families waiting to welcome each unique pup. Zoie was adopted by a little boy and his parents, and they all fell in love with the sweet shy girl right away. Feisty Zaina went home with a woman still grieving her dog Cash’s recent passing – one look at Zaina’s cute face helped heal her broken heart.
As for momma Zia, she didn’t have to wait long before a woman named Liz saw Zia’s story on Instagram and raced to adopt her. Zia joined Liz’s family and was smothered with affection. After all Zia had endured, she could finally relax into the happy, carefree life she deserved.

Zia’s beautiful story goes to show that pit bulls, despite unfair stereotypes, can be amazing pets when given the chance.
