Smiles and cuddles have always been Bella’s trademarks. This energetic and affectionate Pitbull-type dog was the darling of the Humane Society of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With her infectious personality and boundless enthusiasm, she was expected to find a forever home in no time.
Sadly, that was not the case. Bella had been surrendered to the shelter by her previous owner, who was forced to give her up due to landlord restrictions against Bulldog breeds. However, as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, Bella’s situation took a tragic turn. Instead of the quick adoption everyone had anticipated, she found herself stuck in the confines of the shelter for over 100 agonizing days. The prolonged stay began to take a toll on her vibrant spirit.
The once-irrepressible pup slowly started to shut down, her big smile and enthusiastic tail-wagging replaced by a listless demeanor and an empty stare.
