Arlo, a charming Pittie mix, was nearing that very point of no return at a local shelter in Bakersfield, California.
Time after time, he was bypassed, his endearing personality overshadowed by his unpopular hue. That is, until a woman with a giant heart decided to take a chance on him.

A Beacon of Hope from Oregon
Enter Donna Clark of Soul 2 Soul Animal Rescue in Roseburg, Oregon. When a transporter alerted her to Arlo’s plight – along with several other dogs facing euthanasia – Clark didn’t hesitate.
Despite the challenges of finding a home for a black Pittie, she agreed to welcome Arlo and one other pup into her rescue.
Little did she know, Arlo’s goofy and energetic spirit would soon captivate everyone around him. Within days, he had found a forever family, but their joy was short-lived.
After just a month, the owners returned Arlo, citing concerns that his high energy might inadvertently harm their children.

A Heartbreaking Setback and a Second Chance
Arlo’s return to the shelter left Clark heartbroken, and the once-exuberant pup exhibited signs of depression.
But a second chance soon presented itself in the form of an experienced foster home, where a dedicated mom agreed to help Arlo regain his spark.
With time and patience, Arlo’s true self reemerged, his goofy antics and loving nature once again on full display.
Clark knew he was ready for his forever family, but finding the right fit for an energetic Pittie would be a challenge.

A Perfect Match and a Lifetime of Love
Against the odds, the day finally arrived when a woman walked through the door and fell in love with Arlo’s sweet personality.
Without hesitation, she made him a part of her family, providing him with a forever home, a fenced yard, and an abundance of love.
Not only did Arlo gain a new human family, but he also welcomed a furry sister adopted from the Central Point dog rescue. Today, the two canine companions revel in their newfound freedom, running freely and basking in the joy of a lifetime of love and acceptance.

Clark’s joy is palpable, having witnessed Arlo’s journey from an overlooked shelter pup to a cherished family member.
“We are so very happy for our beautiful boy and tonight feeling very accomplished that we placed the hardest type of dog there is out there,” his caregivers wrote, their hearts full.
