Lost and alone, a young Golden Retriever puppy huddled beneath a park bench, shivering in the cold rain. Raindrops pelted his matted fur, and his stomach rumbled with hunger. He whimpered softly, lost and afraid.
Suddenly, a brown and white Collie with soulful eyes appeared beside him. The older dog nudged the puppy gently with his nose, a silent question in his gaze. The puppy whimpered again, licking the Collie’s nose in gratitude.
The Collie nudged the puppy again, this time towards a large oak tree with a hollowed-out base. It wasn’t much shelter, but it was better than nothing. The Collie curled up next to the puppy, offering him warmth and comfort.

The next morning, the rain had stopped, and a ray of sunlight peeked through the clouds. A young girl skipping through the park spotted the two dogs huddled beneath the oak tree. She gasped, her eyes widening at the sight of the shivering puppy.
“Oh, poor thing!” the girl cried, rushing towards the dogs. The Collie whined and licked the puppy’s face, nudging him closer to the girl. The girl knelt down, her heart melting at the sight of the two lost souls.
“Come here, little guy,” she said softly, extending her hand. The puppy crawled out from under the tree and licked her fingers. The girl scooped him up in her arms, his wet fur clinging to her clothes.
The Collie barked happily and wagged his tail. The girl looked at the Collie, then back at the puppy.
“Are you two together?” she asked.
The Collie barked again, nudging the girl’s hand with his nose. The girl smiled.
“Well, you both look like you could use a home,” she said. “Come on, let’s get you something to eat.”
The girl wrapped the puppy in her jacket and followed the Collie out of the park. She didn’t know where the day would lead, but she was determined to help these two lost dogs find their way home, or perhaps, create a new home together.
