After rescuers learned a stray mama dog gave birth while living on the streets, they raced to find the frightened animal.
When they got to the area and tried to approach her, she became extremely anxious, fearful they might be dangerous. So they retreated to their car for treats, returning to gently feed the wary mom, who was ravenously hungry.

Finally able to catch a glimpse of the puppies, the poor babies seemed ill and needed urgent care. The rescuers attempted to pet the mama dog, hoping to show they only wanted to help her and the litter.
Noticing the small leash around her neck, they realized she likely once had an owner who cruelly abandoned her.
A Tragedy And A Ray Of Hope

After the mama dog calmed down, they moved her away so they could aid the struggling puppies. Seeing her babies in dire shape, she frantically licked them, gazing desperately at the humans as if pleading for them to help.
Tragically, four of the five puppies had already passed away, with only one barely clinging to life. Their inconsolable mom tried in vain to revive them, utterly distraught.
Though deeply saddened they couldn’t save the four lost babies, the rescuers gently brought the mama and her sole surviving puppy to a shelter for urgent care, still reeling from the trauma.

After laying the four tiny babies to rest, the shelter vet worked tirelessly to nurture the weary mama dog and her one remaining child back to health. Though their road would be long, it seemed this mama and baby would finally catch a break.
The very next day, two orphaned newborn puppies arrived at the shelter. Workers quickly brought them to the hero mama dog to see if she would accept them.
Initially puzzled, she soon lovingly took in the little ones and nursed the orphaned babies back to strength like the warrior mom she is!
While the future of the adopted pups remains uncertain, they still have more growing up ahead before adoption. But there’s no doubt this brave mama will help them all find loving homes when the time comes!
