Rylee the black Labrador Retriever puppy was full of pep and always eager to please. One sunny afternoon, Rylee was playing fetch in the living room with her favorite squeaky toy. Her human, Sarah, had just finished a refreshing soda and absentmindedly tossed the empty plastic bottle on the coffee table.
Rylee, ever the keen observer, noticed the misplaced bottle. Remembering all the times Sarah had patiently explained the importance of recycling, Rylee trotted over to the coffee table. Picking up the bottle gently in her mouth, careful not to crush it, Rylee proudly paraded it back to Sarah.
Sarah looked down at Rylee, who was gazing up at her with a hopeful wag of her tail. It suddenly dawned on Sarah what Rylee was trying to do.
“Oh, Rylee! That’s fantastic!” Sarah exclaimed, taking the bottle from the puppy’s mouth. “You want to help me recycle this, don’t you? You’re a very good girl, you know that?”

Rylee barked happily, her tail thumping against the floor. Sarah scratched Rylee behind the ears and then got up to put the empty bottle in the recycling bin.
From that day forward, Rylee became Sarah’s official recycling reminder. Every time Sarah forgot to recycle, Rylee would pick up the forgotten item and bring it to her, a gentle nudge to do the right thing.
Rylee may have been just a puppy, but she was proving that even the smallest of creatures can make a big difference, reminding us all to take care of our planet, one recycled bottle at a time.
