That’s exactly what happened to the abandoned dog in this story. Despite being deserted, he knew it wasn’t a reason to lose his smile since he could feel his life was about to turn around.

Meet Goose, a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees mix whose cheerful spirit stayed strong even during his darkest hour.
One sad day, Goose was discovered tied to a fence with a devastating note saying his owners didn’t want him anymore.
Two strangers who approached to pet him had no idea he was abandoned and all alone – his beaming smile gave no signs of his painful reality.
Learning of his hardship but seeing his unbreakable optimism, one passerby chose to be more than just a random face. She extended a loving hand, offering sweet Goose a home.
“He really likes people. When he saw someone coming to him, he was just hoping to be showered with love,” said Lindsey Hawkins, Goose’s foster mom.

A Rough Start
Goose’s note shockingly read: “Don’t have time. Just take the dog.”
So that’s exactly what Hawkins did!
But first, since Goose was very dirty and covered in ticks, she took him to the vet for much-needed care.
To avoid stressing him too much all at once, the vet team gently bathed and groomed Goose over several days.
Despite everything, his infectious smile never faded.
“He never showed any aggression at all. I think he knew we only wanted to help,” Hawkins said.
And if you thought Goose’s grin couldn’t get wider, just look at his mega-watt smile when he got the green light to go to his new home!

A New Life
Lindsey eagerly brought Goose home to foster, but he had other plans.
“The whole ride, he kept trying to climb from the backseat up to my lap in front,” Lindsey said.
At her house, she realized Goose spent his entire life outdoors. He was too scared of furniture and avoided floors without carpets.
But within days, Goose befriended his new floofy siblings – chickens and senior dog Zeus – quickly adapting and making himself at home.
Seeing how well he fit in, Lindsey knew he was there to stay for good.
“The day we decided to officially adopt him, Goose stood on his hind legs, put his paws on my husband’s shoulders and snuggled into his chest, like he was saying ‘Thank you.’”
In just two short weeks in his forever home, Goose became completely comfortable inside. He happily jumps on beds like he owns them and no longer fears fancy floors.

The Perfect Ending
Despite every tribulation, this remarkable dog never dropped his contagious smile. Witnessing his unwavering spirit and resilience is truly inspirational.
Goose is now considering following in brother Zeus’ pawprints to become a therapy dog, sure to spread comfort and joy with his unbreakable optimism wherever he goes!
